mmpta-LAN (Pretoria)

Hi guys,

I just want to inform you about a pretty new LAN called MMPTA, which has only hosted one event before, but out next event is the 24th-26th July.
Its a 3 day LAN in centurion. Entrance fee is R80 per person, if you book. If you dont book then its R110 due to inconvencience.

There will be a dota clan competition and a cod4 clan and FFA comp.

Duc, arnt you guys in that area? You could go rip some clans up

It's kinda far, about an hour's drive so I'm not sure if the guyz are keen but I'll let them know. Am also worried of a poor turnout, resulting in the DotA comp being cancelled - making it a waste of a trip. :/ The prize munny sounds sweet though. ^_-

Yeah sounds good, except Y is the entrance so much.....Not even Liberty(Which is probably the best LAN in Gauteng) is that much....Any justifications???

R80 is really not that much, Our local lan, Organised Chaos is R140 and R120 if you book in advance (and averages around 500-600ppl).

I dont know how big this lan is but location rental and equipment is imba expensive.

At the moment it is R80 entry... later on when we a bit bigger, we will probably bring it down to R70.

About the poor turn out. A lot of people are scared of that, seeing it is a new LAN. And its quite hard to convince people to come.

But I think we will be about 100 people at this LAN.

About the prizes. Ya prize money will be sweeter the more teams play.
We got 2 clans so far who want to play. Im trying to get more to come.
Help from you guys would be appreciated.

If all goes well, the prizes be more, I first got to hear from the sponsors though. But I would like to add like a 160 GB HDD or something like that. Or new keyboards or ya. I'll have to see how much money I can raise.

And remember, the higher the entrance fee, the bigger the prize will be the next LAN...

I would love to give graphic cards away... but sadly the finances cant support that atm.

But the LAN is quite coasy and fun.

So I hope a few clans here come to play some DOTA!!!

Tomorrow on the website we going to change something. We going to add a little package.

This package will be explained on the website, but basically what it means. If you register 10 people at a time, then you and the other 9 people only pay R70.

But if its less than 10 people registering at a time, then its R80.

It'll be hard to get 10 peeps, maybe if you guyz made it 5 (the size of a DotA clan).

Edge was referring to the rest of the DUCoRe team (the guyz with orange nicks on this forum ). Will need to see if the entire team is available before we can confirm.

LOL, yeah...Clan DuCoRe....haha........And i agree, by lowering it from 10 to five to make for the clans would get more response i think. Cus tbh i dont know 10 ppl even that would confirm to a LAN 70km away that easily. But a clan is very do-able e.g Going in 2 cars and saving on petrol

Okay we'll make it like this... If you register 5 people at a time, then you pay R70 each.

If you register 10 people at a time, then the guy who registered the 10 guys, pays R50 and the other 9 pay R70.

I think those 2 packages are pretty shweet, or not?

BTW, what day/time does the comp start? (Cause I know at Liberty, the LAN starts on Friday eve but the comp is on Sat).
