DuC at the MSSA Provincial LAN (22 Mar 09)

This was the Gauteng Provincials LAN held at WITS University. FYI, don't expect much in-game "chatting" as it was a LAN.

DuC finished 3rd at the comp and so we've qualified for the Nationals which are later this year, June/July.

That Windrunner pick of theirs left me all... Oo. Talked to them after the game and they said this was their 1st comp, unless I'm mixing up teams. Edge as puck was as deadly as ever.

Zues kicked our behinds solid. X_x FT made sure to keep Edge's Lycan down which didn't help. They played really well. Knew it was gonna be tough, and it was. :/

Wow! These oaks are legendary with their gangs. I highly recommend watching this game just to see them kick ass - sadly it was our asses they were kicking. >_< Wasn't a fun game for us... lol.

Game 5 (DuC vs MILF)

Comment:
This was an epic one. I managed to get my blink on SK without worries but didn't realise that Spec's ulti would screw everything up - a number of times I was hiding, ready to blink in after ulti'ing, to have her ulti 1st, deactivating my blink - leaving me ulti'ing bushes. X_x

We struggled quite a bit mid-game.Didn't help that they focused Legend... hard, in the beginning - he's k/d spread was shocking. :/ And seeing as he was our main carry it wasn't looking good. Another thing we always kept in mind was that they had two carries so we had to end ASAP, which was difficult after loosing team-battles one after another. :/

Hmmm... The final scores don't clearly reflect the pressure we were under almost all game. >_< Glad to say once I _finally_ got my bkb, and the 2x Guinsoos by Demon and Edge, things went a lot better for us. We capitalized on 'em team wins and pushed for raxes.

Friendly (DuC vs Chronic Assault)

After playing our "5 games" for the tourney, we played CA in a friendly as we didn't get to play them.

This was a funny game, we wanted to level 1 Rosh but they chose Syla before us. >_< Than to top it off, they decided to level 1 Rosh... lol. I don't know how and why, but 1 of their guyz revealed himself to the mid 1st tower. Oo So we all dashed to Rosh to intervene. They lost 3 peeps in total, which set them back.

Chronic Assault laned brood and enigma mid, spamming spiders and eidolons like crazy. So by the time I had taken notice, they already took the 1st two towers, leaving the mid-lane wide open. X_x Looking at it now, they had an imba push strat while we had min spammers to counter - wp on that CA.

We held them off for long enough, letting our riki, Lycan and Luna get all imba and what not, sorta. Was a fun game in the end, where tp scrolls were a must.

In the game where i was CM, you forgot to mention the spammers that were hurting the CM....hence the 5 bracers

@GaskooN - Yeah, they're currently playing in the MSSA Online League. This was the Gauteng Provincial LAN. CT will have their LAN soon too.

Well we didn't register for the MSSA league at the beginning of the year... Besides I think you need to pay registration to join them.

A lot of dota players are kinda against the MSSA atm, and based on events last year I dont think its worth the money.

We didnt register with the MSSA until this comp, lol- lastweek only registered.......And its normal comp fees, nothing extra

Yeah, they spammed sms'd us til like the day before the comp asking peeps to register. >_< The cost was R100 per-person and that's all - as we signed up with the "free" Knights club.

I really enjoyed this comp overall there was some good strats and teams that made it feel like a "championship".  I learnt alot in the comp and will definitely be looking forward to Nationals.
