With only 11 teams entering this tourney, we were broken up into two groups of 5/6 (with the top 4 from each group making it thru to the Single-Elim stage on Sunday).

Comment:
S4 went with a weird 2x melee lane top (which is the more aggressive Sent lane by default). This made farming up Naix incredibly tough.

With myself and Shau (Zuez and cm respectively) leaving the creeps for the two carries in either lane, Jugga and Coco managed to farm up pretty imba.

Enigma only managed to get his blink 24 mins in, and Levi left it all together (opting for Vanguard and Hoodie), for S4.

S4 had the right idea in team battles, initiating with potm ulti - but with Zuez' ulti revealing invis peeps, we were able to easily initiate the fight before Enigma or Levi got off their ulti's - cause potm's ulti was only used after we already saw them approaching us... potm ulti -> Zuez ulti -> spam, spam spam -> Levi ulti

Mid/Late-game Tinker kept TP-farming while we ganged his teamies, so it ended up mosting being 4v5 battles (without the Tinker spam for S4 :/ ).

Was a great start to the tourney for DuC, as we had no idea how imba S4 were.

Ag, that Dirge. >_<

This was a rough one for DuC, with mmK going for a heavy push strat (Dirge, Brood and Rhasta).

My mid solo against Zuez was a fail basically, cause after he was level 5-6 that lightning spam broke Pitlord. X_x

Axe should've been top (with Dirge), for some anti-zombie action. Cause Naix/Lion were struggling to no end. :/

Was an incredibly well played game by mmK, expected nothing less from 'em. I fear we messed up with the picks, and moreso the lanes.

Whoa... Looking at the stat's now, NWGC struggled hard to farm up.

Seems top and mid lanes had things under control, was a lil harder bot lane - with Omni's heal kicking my ass. >_<

This was a weird one...

S4(2) only had 4 players online so we told them that they could use a sub (not having to worry about him being reg'd on AGASA), as we didn't want to play them 4v5 - which we did try but they started sighing/crying a few mins in and than called. So after who knows how long we started the game again with Brook as their sub. >_< Now they're sorta losing, but nothing hardcore, when they start chirping.. "gg", "not in the mood", "over it", etc again. So than they -ff 10-15 mins in. As I'm about to post the -ff on the AGASA thread, DaRkEMO comes to the DuC channel saying they found a 5th. X_x Since we were in the mood for some sweet DotA, we played the game...

1st off, their TeX4n dude (aka "Blizzy-smurf" ) created his account like 4 mins before the game was hosted. O_o Which wasn't necessary as we agreed to letting them use "outside" subz. What was more suspicous is that their "Blizzy-smurf" was their drafter, when does the last-minute sub ever draft... hence "Blizzy-smurf". >_<

Anyway...
S4(2)'s lanes came as a surprise, opting to lane CW and not solo potm/Razor.

Bot-lane had it rough early-game, with Razor sent back to base at level 2, than I started the spam on Abba.

Legend had an epic game, with his lothars for mid-game stealth kills - and than Triple Kill after Triple Kill mid/late-game.

The "Blizzy-smurf" was sorta a let down, as he wasn't as imba as we expected. lol

Wow! What a game...

Our picks were a total let down compared to 8oR9's tried and tested stuff. :/

Early-game we pushed hard, taking a lot of level 1 and 2 towers.

Mid/Late-game we ended up almost always losing in team battles - with SK being able to let off his ulti np thanks to potm's ulti. X_x

8oR9 played incredible well to their strengths. Kudos to potm for a game-winning performance with that ulti.

The main issue was that Necro and Pitlord took all the lane farm with Lycan on bush duty, leaving nothing with Viper - and unlike the prev Viper games, 8oR9 always stuck together making it impossible to pick someone off.

As predicted by Demon, 8oR9 went with Coco, but with our predertermined strat (Demon on Necro, Leg on Viper and Edge on Lycan, we had no imba Coco players on the team - which is something I'm looking at fixing, but man he's a hard dude to get right >_< ). Axe was elim'd by us, which in hind-sight was something I could have played instead of Pitlord - as we had no initiators.

Was incredibly frustrating to be out-picked, and in turn out-played - needed to play to our strengths (with Legend on imba farm and me on initiator, etc). Can't take anything away from 8oR9 though, they played a stellar game.
